I would begin by confirming the business process, document types, country-specific e-invoicing requirements, ERP capabilities, data ownership, and acceptance criteria. I would then define the mapping and transport approach, coordinate testing with all parties, monitor exceptions during go-live, and document handover and support procedures.
I would identify the source and target data models, establish mandatory and optional field rules, and create a mapping specification with validation and error-handling scenarios. I would test representative documents, including edge cases, with the customer and trading partner before production deployment.
I would first isolate whether the issue is caused by connectivity, protocol configuration, certificate validity, message syntax, mapping, or business validation. I would use logs and message traces to reproduce the issue, communicate a clear status to stakeholders, apply the fix, and verify successful end-to-end processing.
I would maintain a requirements matrix by country, work with compliance specialists or authoritative documentation, and design configurations that separate reusable core mappings from local rules. I would also build regression tests so mandate changes can be implemented and verified without disrupting existing integrations.
I would set expectations early through a delivery plan, milestones, responsibilities, risks, and regular status updates. When an issue arises, I would explain its impact in business terms, present practical options, and ensure technical decisions and next steps are documented for all parties.

- optimising e-invoicing and global supply chains by planning, coordinating and technically implementing e-invoicing and EDI projects on our cloud platform

Qualifications
To connect with ecosio it is important to have…
- several years of work experience in e-invoicing and/or EDI
- experience with the integration of ERP import and export interfaces based on XML, CSV and IDocs
- experience with EDI onboardings, EDI service providers and Value Added Networks (VANs)
- experience with national e-invoicing mandates around the globe
- in-depth knowledge of typical EDI and integration formats like XML, EDIFACT, ANSI X12, and VDA as well as EDI protocols like AS2, OFTP2 or PEPPOL
- excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage (French, German, Italian, Chinese, etc)
- know-how in project management, supply chain management and/or logistics
- strong organisational skills and enjoy working independently
