Cover letter sample
Dear Hiring Team,
I am excited to apply for the Croatian Sports Localization Specialist (Football) role. My native-level Croatian writing ability, English-to-Croatian localization experience, and deep knowledge of football enable me to create accurate, culturally relevant content for Croatian audiences.
I bring strong editing, fact-checking, and MTPE skills, with careful attention to style guides, terminology, and audience voice. I am also comfortable working independently with digital content tools, spreadsheets, and structured quality-control workflows.
I would welcome the opportunity to help Welocalize deliver engaging football content that feels natural and compelling to local fans. Thank you for your consideration.
Sample interview questions
I begin by identifying the content purpose, intended audience, source context, and applicable style guide. I then translate for meaning and local relevance rather than word-for-word equivalence, verify football terminology and facts, and complete a final review for fluency, grammar, consistency, and formatting.
I use trusted primary sources where possible, such as official club, league, federation, and player channels, then cross-check important details with reputable sports media. For names, competition terminology, statistics, and dates, I follow the client glossary and established Croatian editorial conventions.
I first assess whether the output preserves the source meaning and required tone. I correct accuracy, fluency, terminology, grammar, punctuation, and cultural issues, while documenting recurring errors so that future machine-translation output can be improved.
I would use concise, energetic language, familiar football expressions, and locally natural phrasing without forcing slang. The final copy should match the platform and audience while remaining clear, brand-safe, and aligned with the provided style guide.
I prioritize work by deadline, content impact, and required research effort, breaking assignments into reviewable stages. I maintain an organized terminology reference, communicate early about ambiguities or risks, and conduct a final quality check before delivery.
