Sample interview questions
I would explain how I reviewed account usage, business goals, stakeholder feedback, and renewal timing to identify a gap that our additional solution could address. I would then quantify the customer impact, align internal partners on a mutual plan, lead discovery and proposal discussions, and close the opportunity through a clear value case.
I start with account health and the customer's desired outcomes rather than forcing a product-led motion. I prioritize recommendations that solve validated needs, use transparent commercial conversations, and coordinate with Customer Success so growth strengthens the relationship and supports long-term retention.
I use consistent opportunity stages with clear entry and exit criteria, document stakeholders, business value, timing, risks, and next steps in the CRM, and review changes weekly. I separate committed opportunities from upside pipeline and actively inspect stalled deals or dependencies that could affect forecast reliability.
I would structure the QBR around outcomes achieved, adoption and account-health data, relevant benchmarks, upcoming customer priorities, and a jointly agreed action plan. When an unmet need or strategic priority emerges, I would introduce a tailored recommendation tied to measurable value rather than treating the meeting as a generic sales presentation.
I would establish a shared account plan that first addresses the root causes of risk, defines ownership, and sets a customer communication cadence. Once value realization and confidence are restored, I would position growth only where it directly supports the customer's goals and can be delivered successfully.
