Inspira Education is seeking a COMLEX Tutor to provide individualized remote test-preparation support to osteopathic medical students and residents in the United States. I would then prioritize high-yield weak areas, set weekly measurable goals, combine targeted question blocks with content review, and revisit the plan regularly using performance data.
I connect core osteopathic principles to common clinical presentations and COMLEX-style vignettes rather than relying on memorization alone. I use concise frameworks, active recall, case-based questions, and error review to help students recognize when OMM/OMT concepts are being tested and choose answers efficiently.
I would examine timing by question type and block to determine whether the issue is content uncertainty, overthinking, or inefficient review behavior. I would introduce timed blocks, decision rules for difficult questions, pacing checkpoints, and post-block reflection until the student can maintain accuracy while completing sections on time.
I make feedback specific, evidence-based, and focused on behaviors the student can change. I acknowledge progress, identify the most important gap, explain its impact, and end with a practical next step so the student leaves each session with confidence and a clear plan.
I would build a flexible, realistic plan around clinical rotations, call schedules, and energy levels. The plan would emphasize efficient question-based learning, brief high-yield reviews, targeted weak-area work, and regular adjustments so progress remains sustainable despite a demanding workload.

The Role
We are looking for COMLEX Tutors who are passionate about education and driven to help osteopathic medical students and residents succeed on their COMLEX-USA exams. If you love mentoring, test prep, and empowering others, this is the role for you. You’ll work one-on-one with students, create personalized COMLEX study plans, and provide expert guidance to help them excel on their exams.
Responsibilities
- Tutor students one-on-one in preparation for COMLEX-USA Level 1, Level 2-CE, and/or Level 3
- Tailor COMLEX test preparation to each student’s individual needs, goals, strengths, and weaknesses
- Provide expert instruction in relevant COMLEX content areas, including clinical sciences, biomedical sciences, clinical reasoning, and osteopathic principles and practice
- Help students develop effective study strategies, test-taking skills, and time-management techniques specific to the COMLEX exam
- Assess student strengths and weaknesses through practice exams, question banks, and other diagnostic tools
- Develop personalized study plans based on student performance and exam timelines
- Assign targeted practice, homework, and study activities between sessions
- Provide written feedback and actionable recommendations to help students improve
- Track and analyze student progress and performance
- Prepare students for COMLEX-specific question formats and clinical reasoning
- Support students with test-day preparation, including pacing, stamina, and test-taking strategies
- Be passionate about education and serve as a COMLEX expert and thought leader for your students
Qualifications
- Have a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Have previously taken at least one COMLEX-USA examination (official score report required)
- Have experience preparing students for COMLEX-USA Level 1, Level 2-CE, and/or Level 3
- Have a strong understanding of osteopathic principles and practice, including Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM/OMT)
- Be able to develop personalized study plans based on student performance and individual goals
- 1-2 years of previous teaching or tutoring experience desired
- Completed residency required for Level 3 tutoring; residency training preferred for Level 2-CE tutoring
- Able to tutor during afternoons, evenings, and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and motivate students
