Sample interview questions
How would you create an individualized COMLEX study plan for a student who is underperforming on practice exams?

I would first review the student's score report, question-bank analytics, exam date, schedule, and learning habits to identify content and test-taking gaps. I would then prioritize high-yield weak areas, set weekly measurable goals, combine targeted question blocks with content review, and revisit the plan regularly using performance data.

How do you teach osteopathic principles and OMM/OMT in a way that is useful for COMLEX preparation?

I connect core osteopathic principles to common clinical presentations and COMLEX-style vignettes rather than relying on memorization alone. I use concise frameworks, active recall, case-based questions, and error review to help students recognize when OMM/OMT concepts are being tested and choose answers efficiently.

What would you do if a student is knowledgeable but repeatedly runs out of time on practice tests?

I would examine timing by question type and block to determine whether the issue is content uncertainty, overthinking, or inefficient review behavior. I would introduce timed blocks, decision rules for difficult questions, pacing checkpoints, and post-block reflection until the student can maintain accuracy while completing sections on time.

How do you provide feedback that motivates students while still addressing significant performance gaps?

I make feedback specific, evidence-based, and focused on behaviors the student can change. I acknowledge progress, identify the most important gap, explain its impact, and end with a practical next step so the student leaves each session with confidence and a clear plan.

How would you support a Level 3 learner who is balancing exam preparation with residency responsibilities?

I would build a flexible, realistic plan around clinical rotations, call schedules, and energy levels. The plan would emphasize efficient question-based learning, brief high-yield reviews, targeted weak-area work, and regular adjustments so progress remains sustainable despite a demanding workload.
