Sample interview questions
How would you diagnose a decline in ROAS for an established Meta eCommerce account?

I would first validate tracking integrity in Pixel and CAPI, then segment performance by campaign, audience, creative, placement, attribution window, device, and landing page. I would compare recent results with historical baselines, assess changes in CPM, CTR, CVR, AOV, and margin, and identify whether the issue is traffic quality, creative fatigue, conversion friction, or measurement. I would prioritize controlled tests and document expected impact before reallocating budget.

Describe your approach to creative testing for Meta campaigns.

I use a structured testing framework that isolates variables such as hook, angle, format, offer, audience, and landing-page message. I define success criteria in advance, ensure sufficient spend and conversion volume, and evaluate both platform metrics and downstream profitability. Winning concepts are iterated into new variations, while weak creatives are paused or used to guide the next learning cycle.

How do you decide when and how quickly to scale a profitable campaign?

I scale only after confirming consistent performance against profitability targets and checking that conversion volume is stable. Depending on account structure, I may increase budgets gradually, duplicate proven concepts into broader or new audiences, or expand placements while monitoring CPA, MER, frequency, and marginal return. If efficiency deteriorates beyond the agreed threshold, I slow or reverse scaling and investigate the cause.

What is the value of implementing Conversion API alongside the Meta Pixel?

CAPI improves the reliability of event data sent to Meta by transmitting server-side conversion signals, which can reduce signal loss caused by browser restrictions or blockers. I would ensure event matching, deduplication with Pixel events, proper event prioritization, and ongoing monitoring of event quality. Better data quality supports more reliable reporting, attribution, and campaign optimization.

How would you communicate weekly performance results to a creative team and business stakeholder?

I would provide a concise report focused on outcomes, key metric movement, drivers, completed tests, and next actions. For creative partners, I would translate findings into specific briefs, such as which hooks, formats, messages, or product angles are producing stronger conversion quality. For stakeholders, I would connect spend and platform metrics to ROAS, MER, contribution margin, risks, and prioritized growth opportunities.
