Sample interview questions
How do you prioritize inbound leads while maintaining a consistent outbound prospecting cadence?

I use clear qualification criteria such as fit, urgency, stakeholder access, and potential value to prioritize inbound leads. I then block recurring time for targeted outbound activity, review results weekly, and adjust my account list and messaging based on conversion data.

Describe how you would run a discovery call for an EV charging solution. What would you seek to learn?

I would begin by understanding the customer's fleet, workplace, retail, or property use case, charging goals, timeline, and decision-making process. I would explore current infrastructure, expected driver demand, operational constraints, budget considerations, and success measures before mapping the relevant ChargePoint solution to those needs.

Tell us about a time you overcame an objection during a solution-sales process.

A prospect once felt that implementation effort outweighed the value of a new solution. I acknowledged the concern, clarified the specific implementation risks, involved the appropriate technical resource, and presented a phased plan with measurable outcomes; this helped the customer move forward with confidence.

How do you maintain reliable Salesforce data and sales forecasts?

I update activities, contacts, next steps, close dates, and opportunity stages immediately after meaningful interactions. I forecast based on verified customer actions and agreed milestones rather than optimism, and I regularly review stalled deals to either create a recovery plan or adjust the forecast.

How would you work with channel partners and resellers without losing visibility into the customer opportunity?

I would establish shared account ownership, a mutual action plan, and regular opportunity reviews from the start. I would keep key customer needs, stakeholders, stages, and next actions documented in Salesforce while ensuring the partner has the enablement and communication needed to advance the deal.
