Sample interview questions
How would you identify the highest-impact opportunity to improve marketplace matching quality?

I would first define matching-quality metrics, such as fill rate, time to fill, acceptance rate, cancellation rate, repeat booking rate, and facility and clinician satisfaction. I would segment those metrics by market, specialty, shift type, and user cohort, combine the findings with qualitative research, and prioritize opportunities based on expected impact, confidence, and implementation effort.

Describe how you would balance supply growth, demand conversion, and marketplace liquidity when the goals conflict.

I would establish a shared marketplace health framework that distinguishes leading and lagging indicators for each side of the market. I would model the likely tradeoffs, align stakeholders on the business objective for the relevant market or segment, and run controlled experiments where possible rather than optimizing one metric in isolation.

Tell us about a product initiative you owned from discovery through iteration.

I would explain the customer problem, the evidence used to validate it, and how I defined the desired outcome and success metrics. I would then describe the PRD and alignment process, launch decisions, post-launch measurement, and the iterations made based on user behavior and business results.

How do you handle disagreement with senior stakeholders when the available evidence challenges the proposed direction?

I communicate the decision context, evidence, assumptions, risks, and alternatives clearly and respectfully. I recommend a path forward, identify what would change my view, and, when uncertainty remains, propose a time-bound experiment or staged rollout that creates evidence while limiting downside risk.

Where could AI or LLMs create value in a healthcare staffing marketplace?

I would focus on practical, measurable use cases such as simplifying profile and onboarding workflows, improving job-to-clinician matching explanations, assisting support or operations teams, and summarizing marketplace insights for internal users. Each use case should have clear quality controls, privacy and compliance review, human oversight where needed, and measurable impact on speed, accuracy, conversion, or retention.

As a fully remote team of sharp, collaborative, and entrepreneurial individuals, we are dedicated to redefining the way healthcare workers and facilities work together to provide for patients. We are looking for passionate and skilled professionals to join our team and help us take on tough challenges in this fast-expanding healthcare industry segment.

Join us in our mission to transform the healthcare staffing industry and improve patient lives!

Own the Marketplace Powering Healthcare Work

Healthcare facilities need a faster, smarter, and more reliable way to connect with the clinical professionals who keep care moving.

That’s what Medely is building.

Our Flex marketplace is the core of our business today, connecting healthcare facilities with qualified professionals across the country. It’s proven, scaled, and business-critical. Now we’re focused on what comes next: improving how facilities engage, how professionals find the right opportunities, how matching works, and how we drive deeper retention and expansion.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who wants real ownership of those problems.

This is not a “take tickets and ship features” PM role. You’ll work across complex marketplace dynamics – supply and demand, matching, trust, conversion, and retention – and be expected to challenge assumptions, define the right problems, and make thoughtful tradeoffs that drive measurable outcomes.

Why Now?

You’ll join at a point where the marketplace has real traction, real data, and real business impact – with meaningful room to shape what comes next.

You’ll have direct access to leadership, strong cross-functional partners, and ownership of product decisions that affect both the healthcare facilities we serve and the professionals who power them.

What You’ll Own

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for key areas of the Flex marketplace

  • Own major product initiatives from discovery through launch and iteration, including high-quality PRDs, clear success criteria, and cross-functional alignment

  • Use product data, marketplace signals, customer insights, and user research to identify the highest-value problems to solve

  • Make strategic tradeoffs across conversion, retention, supply and demand, matching quality, operational efficiency, and user experience

  • Partner deeply with Engineering and Design while driving alignment across Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Clinical, Finance, and leadership

  • Measure what ships, learn from outcomes, and feed those insights back into product strategy

  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities before they become obvious – and bring a point of view on what we should do next

  • Apply AI and LLMs pragmatically as a force multiplier – both to simplify user workflows and to supercharge your own team’s operational velocity

Who You Are:

You want ownership, not hand-holding.

You’re comfortable turning complex systems, messy user behavior, and business-critical tradeoffs into intuitive, elegant user experiences. You can zoom out to understand marketplace dynamics and zoom in to define the workflow, metric, requirement, or edge case that determines whether something succeeds.

You’re analytical, highly accountable, and willing to challenge the direction when the evidence points somewhere better. You don’t just move work forward – you make the work sharper.

You’ll likely be successful here if you have:

  • 5+ years of product management experience shipping software in startup, marketplace, SaaS, or scaled technology environments

  • Experience owning product areas from discovery through launch and iteration

  • Strong product judgment and the ability to define clear problems, success criteria, requirements, and tradeoffs

  • Experience using both qualitative and quantitative data to identify user needs, evaluate user behavior, funnel conversion, retention, or marketplace health

  • Strong technical communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with engineering teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication across technical, business, and executive audiences

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience building or scaling a two-sided or three-sided marketplace

  • Experience with matching, supply-demand dynamics, trust, onboarding, retention, or marketplace liquidity

  • Healthcare, workforce, staffing, labor marketplace, or regulated industry experience

  • Experience building products that serve both businesses and individual users

  • Experience using AI, LLMs, or workflow automation to improve product experiences or team effectiveness

Why Medely: Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive Compensation: Based on experience and performance

  • Long-term Incentives: 401k

  • Healthcare Benefits: Full suite of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Flexibility: We believe that work/life balance is important, so we offer flexible and unlimited PTO

  • Paid parental leave

  • Purpose: Join a growing mission-oriented startup that is modernizing the healthcare industry nationally!

  • Ownership: Drive meaningful business impact on a team you’ll help build and define!

  • Remote: Work in a digital environment with all the tools to achieve your work as though you were in the office!

We’re an equal opportunity employer to all. We interview and hire applicants of all backgrounds, orientations, expressions, and identities.

Work location is flexible if approved by Medely.

We consider any resume (CV) or biography received from an agency or outside recruiter without prior approval from a member of the Medely Human Resources or Recruiting team to be unsolicited and gratuitous, and such submissions will not be recognized by Medely for purposes of “ownership” of the candidate.
