Sample interview questions
How would you develop a product strategy for a unified enterprise data platform serving several applications and AI agents?

I would begin with customer and internal-service journeys, identify the highest-friction data onboarding and consumption points, and define a durable platform vision around shared entities, governance, APIs, and reliability. I would translate that vision into outcome-based roadmap themes such as faster time-to-first-data, improved integration completion, and reusable agent-ready data services.

Describe how you would improve time-to-value for enterprise customers integrating their data into the platform.

I would instrument the onboarding funnel to identify failure points, segment customers by integration complexity, and prioritize reusable connectors, guided setup, validation tooling, templates, and clear operational documentation. I would track time-to-first-data, successful integration rates, data completeness, and early active usage to verify that improvements produce customer value.

How do you balance foundational technical investments with feature requests from commercial teams and customers?

I use a transparent prioritization framework that weighs customer impact, strategic alignment, revenue or retention implications, risk reduction, effort, and platform leverage. Foundational work is framed in business terms, such as fewer failed integrations, stronger reliability, faster launches, and reduced churn, rather than as isolated technical debt.

What metrics would you use to evaluate whether a data platform is successful?

I would measure adoption metrics such as active integrations, time-to-first-data, completion rates, data coverage, API usage, and downstream application or agent usage. I would pair these with quality metrics including pipeline latency, freshness, reliability, schema compatibility, incident rates, and customer outcomes such as retention and expansion.

How would you lead PMs while staying involved in critical initiatives?

I would establish clear ownership boundaries, strategic principles, operating cadences, and measurable outcomes for each PM. My direct involvement would focus on the most cross-cutting decisions, executive alignment, major customer escalations, and high-risk roadmap areas, while coaching PMs to make sound independent decisions and grow their leadership capability.

Cultivate and Shape Team Culture:

  • Foster a strong product culture that connects high-quality platform development with measurable business outcomes.
  • Continuously evolve team practices to support innovation, efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration.

What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years in product management, with at least 3 years leading teams as a Director or senior PM lead.
  • Deep experience in data platforms, data infrastructure, or data integration products — ideally in a B2B SaaS or marketing technology context.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming architectures, and API-first platform design.
  • Experience driving platform adoption and onboarding — you understand what it takes to reduce time-to-value for enterprise customers integrating complex data.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data requirements, including how data platforms serve agent architectures, recommendation systems, and analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow PM teams, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — comfortable working with Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, and executive leadership.
  • Experience in commerce, retail, or marketing technology is a strong plus.
