Sample interview questions
I first assess business impact, severity, failed step, error logs, dependencies, and available recovery window. I validate connectivity, Secure Agent health, credentials, source and target availability, then perform an approved restart, targeted reprocessing, or backfill. I communicate status and risk to stakeholders, document actions, and complete root-cause analysis after service is restored.
I would verify agent availability, version compatibility, CPU and memory use, disk capacity, service status, network connectivity, and log growth. I would also review agent-related job failures and latency trends, confirm appropriate access to required endpoints, and schedule upgrades or restarts through change-control procedures when needed.
I would review release notes for affected services and features, identify impacted integrations and connections, and create a regression-test plan covering critical workflows. Before and after the release, I would validate task execution, data quality, runtime behavior, authentication, and monitoring alerts, while maintaining rollback or contingency procedures and communicating outcomes to stakeholders.
I collect incident history, job logs, timestamps, configuration changes, platform metrics, and dependency information to identify patterns. I distinguish symptoms from the underlying cause, validate the hypothesis with relevant teams, and define corrective and preventive actions such as configuration changes, monitoring improvements, retries, capacity adjustments, or updated runbooks. I then track the solution to confirm recurrence is reduced or eliminated.
I establish monitoring for job completion windows, processing duration, failure status, data volumes, and downstream availability. I prioritize exceptions based on business criticality, use alerts and dashboards to enable early intervention, and provide timely stakeholder updates when an SLA is at risk. Trend reviews help identify capacity, scheduling, or dependency issues before they affect production.
