Sample interview questions
I have managed containerized workloads using declarative manifests and Helm, configured health checks and resource limits, and implemented autoscaling where demand patterns supported it. I also use rollout strategies, monitoring, and clear runbooks to reduce deployment risk and speed incident recovery.
I would organize reusable Terraform modules around well-defined platform components, store state securely, and run validation and plan checks through CI before controlled applies. This creates repeatable environments, improves peer review, and reduces configuration drift.
I start with user-impacting indicators such as availability, latency, and successful request rate, then set realistic SLOs jointly with service owners. Error budgets provide an objective signal for balancing delivery speed with reliability work when reliability targets are at risk.
I first assess customer impact, stabilize the service using safe mitigations, and communicate status through the incident process. After restoration, I ensure the team completes a blameless review with concrete corrective actions, owners, and follow-up verification.
I would apply least-privilege access, secrets management, image and dependency scanning, infrastructure policy checks, and secure baseline configurations. I would also make security controls automated and visible in delivery pipelines so issues are identified early without relying solely on manual reviews.
