About this role.
This Senior SDET role builds and maintains production-quality automated testing across a portfolio of more than 20 SaaS products serving public-sector and education organizations. The engineer will develop unit, integration, and selective end-to-end tests, primarily leveraging strong C# skills and frameworks such as xUnit, JUnit, Jest, and Playwright. Key outcomes include greater test coverage, fewer flaky tests, stronger CI/CD reliability, and improved production confidence. The role also emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, debugging across application and infrastructure layers, and practical use of AI tools such as Claude and Copilot for test development and maintenance.

Sample interview questions
I would first map critical user workflows, high-change components, production incidents, and existing coverage to identify risk-based priorities. I would add fast unit tests around core business logic, integration tests at important service boundaries, and a limited set of stable end-to-end tests for essential workflows, measuring both coverage quality and failure trends over time.
I start by classifying the source of instability, such as timing, shared state, test data, asynchronous behavior, external dependencies, or infrastructure. I then make tests deterministic through explicit synchronization, isolated data, controlled mocks or environments, reliable cleanup, and clear observability; I avoid simply increasing retries because that can hide real quality issues.
I use pipeline results to identify recurring failure patterns, slow suites, unstable environments, and tests with low diagnostic value. I prioritize fast feedback for pull requests, separate longer-running regression suites when appropriate, and ensure failures provide actionable logs, traces, screenshots, and clear ownership.
I use unit tests for fast validation of isolated business logic and edge cases, integration tests to verify contracts among components such as services, databases, and APIs, and end-to-end tests only for critical user journeys. This balanced test pyramid provides broad confidence without making delivery dependent on a large, slow, fragile UI suite.
I would use AI to accelerate repetitive test scaffolding, generate edge-case ideas, refactor test utilities, and help interpret failures. However, I would validate all generated code against product behavior, maintain team conventions, avoid exposing sensitive data, and treat AI output as a reviewed starting point rather than an authoritative solution.
