Sample interview questions
How do you ensure accuracy when interpreting a fast-paced audio or video call?

I listen for the speaker's full meaning, tone, and context before rendering the message faithfully in the target language. I use clarification when necessary, avoid adding or omitting information, and maintain an appropriate pace so each party can understand the exchange.

What steps do you take to protect confidentiality during remote interpretation sessions?

I work in a private, secure, noise-free space; use protected devices and internet access; and do not discuss, record, or retain information from assignments. I follow the applicable professional code of conduct and immediately report any privacy concern through the appropriate process.

How would you handle a term or statement that you do not understand during a live call?

I would promptly and professionally ask the speaker to repeat, rephrase, or clarify the term. I would not guess or substitute my own interpretation, particularly in medical, legal, or other sensitive contexts.

How do you remain neutral when participants are upset or disagree with one another?

I maintain a calm, impartial tone and interpret all statements completely and accurately without taking sides, offering advice, or changing the message. My role is to enable communication while preserving the speakers' intent.

What is your approach to preparing your workspace and technology for on-demand assignments?

I verify my internet connection, headset, camera, platform access, and backup power or connectivity options before availability periods. I also ensure my workspace is private and quiet so I can meet confidentiality and audio-quality expectations immediately when a call arrives.
