Sample interview questions
How would you build a targeted prospect list for Flex?

I would define the ideal customer profile using revenue size, ownership structure, industry, financial complexity, and likely banking or payments pain points. I would then use CRM data, LinkedIn, company research, and intent signals to prioritize relevant decision-makers, validate contact information, and organize outreach by segment and hypothesis.

Describe how you would handle a prospect who says they are satisfied with their current financial provider.

I would acknowledge their current setup and ask a concise discovery question about processes such as cash management, payments, credit access, or consolidating financial operations. Rather than immediately pitching, I would look for gaps between their current tools and desired outcomes, then tailor a relevant reason for a follow-up conversation.

What metrics would you monitor to improve your outbound performance?

I would track activity volume, contact rates, email open and reply rates, positive-response rates, meetings booked, show rates, qualified opportunities created, and pipeline contribution. I would review results by segment and message so I can test improvements rather than relying only on total activity.

How do you stay organized when managing many prospects and follow-up tasks?

I use the CRM as the source of truth, maintain clear next steps and dates for every active prospect, and time-block research, outreach, and follow-up work. I prioritize accounts by fit, engagement, and urgency while ensuring no qualified prospect is lost because of incomplete records or missed follow-up.

Why are you interested in selling in a fintech startup environment?

I am motivated by the combination of consultative selling and measurable business impact. Fintech buyers often have complex operational challenges, so I enjoy learning the product deeply, understanding a prospect's workflow, and helping connect them with a solution that can materially improve how they manage their business.

Flex is building the AI-native private bank for business owners.

We’re re-architecting the entire financial system for entrepreneurs—from the first dollar a business earns to how that value compounds, moves, and is ultimately spent in real life. Banking, credit, payments, personal finance, and financial operations—rebuilt from the ground up as a single, intelligent system. Flex is the full financial home for ambitious owners.

Since launching publicly in September 2023, Flex has scaled from zero to nine-figure annualized revenue, with a clear path to profitability by late 2026. We move fast, ship relentlessly, and operate with extreme ownership.
