Sample interview questions
How would you approach a technical discovery session for a customer electrifying a mixed vehicle fleet?

I would first establish the fleet profile, including vehicle types, routes, dwell times, depot locations, charging windows, growth plans, and operational constraints. I would then evaluate site electrical capacity, charging requirements, energy-management opportunities, and relevant third-party integrations before presenting phased, financially and operationally practical recommendations.

Describe how you would explain an EV charging solution to both operational and technical stakeholders.

I would tailor the discussion to each audience while maintaining one clear solution narrative. For operations leaders, I would focus on uptime, fleet readiness, scheduling, and deployment impact; for technical teams, I would cover electrical architecture, networking, APIs, load management, security, and implementation dependencies.

What factors would you assess during an EV charging site evaluation?

I would assess available electrical capacity, utility constraints, panel and transformer capacity, physical layout, cable routing, vehicle circulation, civil works, connectivity, installation codes, safety requirements, and future expansion needs. I would also consider charging behavior and fleet schedules to determine the appropriate charger mix and power-management design.

How do you manage technical risks in an RFP or tender response?

I would create a requirements traceability matrix, validate assumptions with internal subject-matter experts, identify exclusions and dependencies early, and ensure the proposed architecture directly addresses mandatory requirements. I would clearly document risks, mitigations, implementation responsibilities, and any information needed from the customer.

Give an example of how you would resolve a technical issue that could affect customer satisfaction during pre-sales.

I would quickly define the issue, quantify its impact on the proposed deployment, and bring together the appropriate product, engineering, installation, and customer stakeholders. I would communicate transparent options, recommend the most viable path, and track ownership through resolution so the customer has confidence in both the solution and the delivery plan.
