This is a mid-level Cloud/DevOps/SRE Engineer contract role supporting a client remotely from Latin America. The engineer will build and operate AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Docker workloads, and observability tooling. Core responsibilities include production troubleshooting, incident response, security hardening, and improving operational reliability through automation. The role requires at least three years of relevant experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently with distributed engineering teams.

I would combine centralized logs, infrastructure and application metrics, dashboards, actionable alerts, and distributed tracing, ensuring alerts are tied to clear runbooks and meaningful service thresholds.
I embed reliability and security controls into the engineering workflow rather than treating them as late-stage checks. Automated tests, code-quality gates, infrastructure reviews, vulnerability scanning, monitoring, and gradual releases enable teams to ship quickly while keeping risk visible and manageable.

Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Manage and optimize containerized workloads using Docker.
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
Define and improve system health metrics, dashboards, and alerts.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.
Support incident response and root-cause analysis for reliability issues.
Implement security hardening and follow cloud infrastructure security best practices.
Integrate code quality and security checks into development and deployment workflows, including SonarQube.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks and improve engineering efficiency.
Collaborate with software engineers, Tech Leads, and Architects to improve application reliability and deployment processes.
Help establish and maintain best practices around infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, and operational readiness.
Proactively identify risks and bottlenecks across the development and production environments.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering, or a related role.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
Strong experience with Docker and containerized applications.
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, logging, and system health metrics.
Familiarity with security hardening and cloud security best practices.
Experience with SonarQube or similar code quality/security tools.
- Experience using AI tools.

Compensation:
The salary range offered for this position varies from (USD) $3,200 – $4,800 per month, depending on seniority and skillset.
This is a 40 hours per week.
This position is for a full time contract, through a payroll platform.
