About this role.
Lightspeed is hiring a Field Account Executive to own new-business acquisition across the Munich hospitality market. The role requires full-cycle field sales, including prospecting, walk-ins, relationship building, product demonstrations, and closing SaaS contracts with restaurants, cafés, and bars. The successful candidate will operate with substantial independence while using marketing-generated leads, local partnerships, and referral channels to build pipeline. Native-level German and strong interpersonal presence are essential, while prior sales, business-development, or hospitality experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Sample interview questions
I would segment the territory by hospitality density and ideal customer profile, prioritize high-potential neighborhoods and venues, and set a disciplined weekly cadence for walk-ins, calls, follow-ups, and partner outreach. I would combine marketing-qualified leads with self-sourced opportunities, document activity in the CRM, and review conversion data weekly to focus on the channels producing qualified demos.
I would respect the owner’s time by making a concise introduction, stating the relevant value proposition, and asking for the best time for a short follow-up conversation. Rather than pushing for a full pitch immediately, I would aim to earn permission for a scheduled discovery meeting and tailor that discussion to operational challenges such as payments, ordering, reporting, or multi-location management.
I treat rejection as data rather than a personal outcome. I capture the reason for the objection, determine whether a future follow-up is appropriate, and use recurring feedback to improve my targeting and messaging. Maintaining activity discipline and focusing on controllable inputs helps me stay motivated.
Before the demo, I would confirm the customer’s business model, current tools, pain points, and decision criteria. During the session, I would connect each relevant Lightspeed capability to a stated operational or commercial need rather than presenting every feature. I would finish by confirming value, identifying stakeholders and next steps, and agreeing on a clear path toward a decision.
I would monitor leading indicators such as new prospects added, in-person visits, conversations, qualified opportunities, demos booked, and follow-up completion. I would pair these with funnel metrics including demo-to-proposal conversion, win rate, sales-cycle length, average deal value, and closed revenue to identify where to improve.
