About this role.
BetterHelp seeks a qualified psychosocial counselor or therapist to provide remote teletherapy to adults in the Netherlands. The independent contractor will conduct clinical sessions through BetterHelp’s platform while retaining autonomy over clinical decisions and preferred client populations. Candidates must be qualified as a WO psychologist, integrative counselor, psychosocial counselor, or psychosocial therapist, with at least three years of adult counseling experience. The role requires a private setting, reliable internet access, and successful completion of a background check. BetterHelp handles client acquisition, billing, and administrative support, enabling the practitioner to focus on clinical care.

I begin by setting clear expectations around confidentiality, communication, and the structure of sessions. I use active listening, empathy, and regular check-ins to ensure the client feels heard, safe, and involved in defining therapeutic goals.
I conduct sessions from a private, quiet setting, use secure approved technology, protect client records, and follow applicable professional and privacy requirements. I also explain practical privacy considerations to clients at the outset of care.
I would assess immediacy and severity of risk using an appropriate clinical framework, remain calm and supportive, and follow established safeguarding and escalation procedures. I would document the assessment, consult or refer when needed, and prioritize the client’s immediate safety.
I use a collaborative assessment to understand each client’s goals, background, strengths, and preferences. I then tailor evidence-informed interventions while reviewing progress regularly and adjusting the care plan when it is not producing the intended benefit.
I maintain clear availability, prepare carefully for sessions, document promptly, and set professional boundaries around workload and response times. I also use supervision, peer consultation, and continuing professional development to support high-quality clinical practice.

Vereisten:
- Is gekwalificeerd om te praktiseren als WO-psycholoog, Integratief Counselor, Psychosociaal Counselor of Psychosociaal Therapeut.
- Heeft minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in het begeleiden van volwassenen.
- Is in staat om een vertrouwelijke en rustige omgeving te waarborgen voor het uitvoeren van therapiesessies.
- Moet een achtergrondcontrole doorstaan.
- Heeft een betrouwbare internetverbinding voor teletherapie.
