Sample interview questions
How would you build a partner marketing plan for a strategic channel partner?

I would begin by aligning on the partner's business goals, target segments, sales motion, and current pipeline. I would then define a joint value proposition, prioritized campaigns, owners, budget, timeline, and success metrics such as sourced pipeline, influenced revenue, engagement, and partner activation. Regular performance reviews would allow us to reallocate investment toward the highest-performing tactics.

Describe how you measure the ROI of a partner marketing campaign.

I establish baseline metrics and attribution expectations before launch, then track investment, registrations, attendance or engagement, marketing-qualified leads, pipeline creation, influenced pipeline, and closed revenue. I also assess qualitative signals such as partner readiness and content adoption. I use the findings to identify which audiences, messages, and channels should be scaled, refined, or stopped.

How would you localize a global campaign for EMEA or APAC without diluting the core message?

I would preserve the global positioning and campaign objective while adapting proof points, language, assets, channels, event formats, and calls to action to local market needs. I would validate the plan with regional sales and partner teams before launch, then compare results by market to capture learnings for future localization.

How do you gain alignment among sales, product marketing, and corporate marketing teams with competing priorities?

I create alignment around a shared revenue outcome, document the target audience and campaign rationale, and clarify each team's responsibilities and decision points. I use concise planning documents, regular check-ins, and transparent reporting so stakeholders can see progress and trade-offs. When priorities conflict, I use customer and performance data to recommend the highest-impact path.

What would you do if a high-visibility partner campaign produced strong engagement but weak pipeline?

I would diagnose the funnel by reviewing audience quality, messaging, calls to action, lead-routing speed, sales follow-up, and partner readiness. Based on the findings, I might refine targeting, introduce stronger conversion offers, equip partner sellers with follow-up materials, or adjust the campaign toward accounts with clearer purchase intent. I would communicate the learning openly and run a focused optimization test rather than repeating the same program.
