Sample interview questions
How do you identify retention risk within a strategic account before the customer raises a concern?

I review product-usage trends, engagement with key stakeholders, support history, renewal timing, and progress against the customer’s intended outcomes. I combine those signals into an account health view, validate assumptions through proactive outreach, and create a specific recovery plan with clear owners and follow-up dates.

Describe your approach to finding an expansion opportunity without making the conversation feel transactional.

I start with discovery around the customer’s current goals, operational challenges, and upcoming initiatives. After confirming a meaningful need, I connect relevant capabilities to measurable outcomes, tailor a demonstration to their workflow, and agree on a practical next step rather than pushing a generic add-on.

How would you manage a portfolio of high-value accounts with competing renewal and growth priorities?

I segment accounts by renewal date, revenue impact, health, and expansion potential, then maintain account plans for the highest-priority relationships. I use a regular cadence for executive touchpoints, value reviews, adoption checks, and internal pipeline reviews so urgent risks are addressed without neglecting long-term growth.

Tell us about a time you turned customer feedback into an internal product or process improvement.

I would document the feedback with account context, affected workflow, business impact, and examples, then share it with the appropriate product or operations partners. I would also close the loop with the customer, set realistic expectations, and communicate progress so they know their input is being represented.

How do you deliver an effective product demonstration for a customer with complex needs?

I prepare by understanding the customer’s goals, users, processes, and success measures. During the demo, I focus on the few workflows that solve their stated problems, use relevant examples, ask confirming questions throughout, and finish with a recap of value, stakeholders, and mutually agreed next actions.

TeamSnap is seeking an Account Manager to own strategic relationships with our largest Sports Organization customers, driving retention, product adoption, and growth. This is a results-driven role built for someone who thrives on managing complex, high-value accounts through a consultative approach — not a high-volume, transactional book of business. Ideal candidates bring strong B2B relationship management skills, a consultative sales approach, and a collaborative mindset that makes the whole team better.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a portfolio of our largest accounts, establishing strong relationships and hitting retention goals

  • Run demos of TeamSnap platforms to show the value of new products or add-ons

  • Use account and usage data to drive proactive outreach — building account plans, spotting risk or expansion signals before customers raise them, and communicating results

  • Drive a value-based sales process, uncovering customer needs through deep discovery and customized demonstrations of the capabilities that solve them

  • Manage your upsell pipeline to hit renewal and expansion targets across your portfolio

  • Follow up on marketing-driven campaigns, turning outreach into your portfolio into real engagement — identifying challenges, educating customers, and creating growth opportunities

  • Serve as the “Voice of the Customer” internally, escalating product feedback to ensure proper product prioritization

Important Qualities:

  • Motivated — you get excited about exceeding retention and growth goals

  • Strong business acumen — you understand our customers’ goals and operations and how TeamSnap adds value

  • A great listener — you can absorb a lot of customer feedback, and know how to turn it into action

  • Resourceful — you take initiative but also ask for guidance when needed

  • Customer focused — you have compassion and care for the customer experience

  • Collaborative — you believe in “we” before “I” and love to celebrate wins together

What Will Set You Up For Success:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in Customer Success, Relationship Management, or Account Management, preferably in a SaaS environment

  • A proven track record of hitting retention and expansion targets

  • Experience managing complex, high-value accounts where relationship depth matters more than volume

  • Ability to travel occasionally, including our annual company meeting, periodic sales team meetings, potential trade shows, and client visits

  • Sports industry experience (preferred)
