Sample interview questions
Can you describe a course-video editing project where you transformed technical material into an engaging learning experience?

I would explain the audience, learning objective, raw assets, and editorial choices I made—such as pacing, visual callouts, screen captures, graphics, and sound design. I would also share how I validated that the final edit was clear, accurate, and aligned with the instructional goals.

How do you organize footage, project files, graphics, and exports across a long-term editing project?

I use a consistent folder structure, clear file naming, version control, labeled bins, proxy workflows when appropriate, and documented export settings. I also keep source media, project files, graphics, audio, and deliverables separated so another editor can quickly locate and continue the work.

How do you handle an urgent edit request while you are focused on a larger editing assignment?

I first clarify the priority, deadline, required deliverable, and impact on current milestones. I communicate a realistic plan, protect the main project through clean handoff notes and saved versions, complete the urgent task efficiently, and then confirm the revised timeline for the longer assignment.

What is your workflow for creating motion graphics or animated explanations in After Effects?

I begin by confirming the instructional purpose and visual style, then storyboard the sequence and build reusable assets where possible. I focus on timing, hierarchy, readability, and restrained animation so the motion supports comprehension rather than distracting from the lesson.

How do you respond to editorial feedback that differs from your original creative recommendation?

I listen for the underlying objective, ask clarifying questions when needed, and implement revisions with a professional, solution-oriented approach. If I believe an alternative would better serve the learner or production goal, I present it respectfully with a clear rationale and remain aligned with the final decision.
