Sample interview questions
I would first clarify the intended model use case, clinical population, data modalities, quality thresholds, privacy constraints, and acceptance criteria. I would then convert those inputs into a scoped data strategy, annotation or evaluation specifications, governance checkpoints, resourcing plan, risk register, and measurable delivery milestones agreed with both the customer and internal delivery teams.
I would establish clinically grounded guidelines, qualification criteria for contributors, calibration exercises, and a layered quality-control process that includes automated checks, peer review, expert adjudication, and ongoing error analysis. I would track agreement, defect patterns, turnaround time, and customer feedback, then use findings to refine guidelines and training.
I make ambiguity visible by documenting assumptions, decisions, open questions, and the impact of each unresolved item. I use short alignment sessions to prioritize requirements, establish a decision owner and deadline, and communicate trade-offs in scope, timeline, quality, and risk so delivery can continue without losing stakeholder confidence.
I would assess whether data contains protected or sensitive health information, confirm lawful access and permitted use, define de-identification and access-control requirements, and ensure secure handling across the delivery workflow. I would also review potential bias, representativeness, clinical safety implications, documentation needs, and escalation paths for harmful or questionable model outputs.
I would conduct a structured retrospective to identify reusable assets such as data schemas, clinical taxonomies, annotation guidelines, quality metrics, training materials, and governance templates. After validating them with delivery and clinical stakeholders, I would package these assets into documented playbooks and maintain an improvement cycle based on future project outcomes.
