Sample interview questions
How would you approach provisioning a new customer environment with non-standard technical requirements?

I would first document the customer’s requirements, identify dependencies and risks, and compare them with established configuration standards. I would determine which exceptions are justified, obtain input from relevant technical stakeholders where needed, configure and validate the environment, and record the decision for future repeatability.

Describe how you would prevent configuration errors in a high-volume onboarding queue.

I would use standardized intake criteria, configuration checklists, peer or automated validation for high-risk changes, and clear status tracking. I would also analyze recurring errors to improve templates, documentation, and upstream data quality.

What factors would you assess before enabling a payments capability for a customer?

I would confirm technical readiness, accurate account and integration data, required compliance documentation, risk indicators, and completion of any internal approval steps. If a requirement is incomplete, I would clearly communicate the blocker and the actions needed to proceed.

How would you handle a request that falls outside your team’s defined service scope?

I would assess the request’s business impact and compare it with the team’s documented scope and priorities. I would either decline it with a clear rationale, route it to the appropriate owner, or escalate it for a policy decision when the exception has material value or risk.

How do you stay current on evolving compliance requirements such as A2P 10DLC?

I follow authoritative industry and vendor guidance, maintain documented internal procedures, and translate regulatory changes into practical customer-registration and platform workflows. I would also communicate meaningful changes promptly to affected internal teams and customers.

Opportunity details

About this role.

WorkWave is a leading provider of SaaS solutions, helping businesses streamline their operations and drive growth through innovative technology. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced Provisioning Specialist to join our Global Professional Services team. In this role, you will lead the strategic alignment, technical enablement, and operational integrity of our SaaS platform implementations for enterprise and growing clients.

We are seeking an analytical, strategic, and proactive Provisioning Specialist. In this role, you will serve as a key operational strategist and system administrator within our customer onboarding and delivery pipeline. You will exercise independent judgment to design, evaluate, and execute software environment setups, oversee financial processing integrations, and direct client regulatory compliance frameworks.

The ideal candidate evaluates complex operational requirements, establishes scalable workflows, exercises discretion on technical provisioning edge-cases, and collaborates cross-functionally to drive continuous process improvements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Systems Architecture & Provisioning Strategy: Evaluate client technical requirements to determine, configure, and execute appropriate WorkWave database environments. Analyze implementation data to continuously optimize configuration methodologies for platform onboarding.
  • Financial Activation: Direct the strategy and execution for activating WorkWave Payments functionality across customer accounts, evaluating risk, technical readiness, and financial compliance prior to activation.
  • Compliance Management: Formulate and manage client registration strategies for A2P 10DLC text messaging compliance. Serve as the subject matter expert on evolving industry regulations to ensure customer and platform alignment.
  • Operational Governance: Establish, maintain, and enforce team governance policy regarding service scope and resource allocation. Analyze incoming service requests, evaluate business impacts, and exercise independent authority to approve, reject, or re-route non-standard requests.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to troubleshoot provisioning delays and ensure a smooth handoff to customer success.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Detail-Oriented Mindset: Strong attention to detail; you rarely let small configuration errors or discrepancies slip through the cracks.
  • Discretion & Decision-Making: Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and make key decisions on matters of significance without direct supervision.
  • Analytical & Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated capacity to analyze system workflows, evaluate technical trade-offs, and recommend scalable operational solutions.
  • Operational Governance: Strong policy formulation and negotiation skills, with the confidence to enforce business standards and operational boundaries.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with customers and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Prioritization: Understands what’s mission critical and what’s trivial, and acts accordingly.
  • Boundary & Queue Control: The confidence and assertiveness to challenge incoming requests that do not belong to your team, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Systems Experience: Prior experience managing or analyzing workflows within enterprise CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and SaaS ecosystems.
