Sample interview questions
I would begin by aligning with executive, product, marketing, and sales leaders on priority markets, offerings, competitive gaps, and desired perception shifts. I would segment analysts by influence and relevance, establish an engagement cadence, define core narratives and proof points, and create measurable objectives around coverage, inclusion, sentiment, and evaluation outcomes.
I would reverse-engineer the evaluation criteria into a cross-functional work plan, identify evidence owners, validate product claims, and build concise, credible submissions supported by customer outcomes and roadmap context. I would also prepare spokespeople for analyst discussions, manage deadlines and governance, and conduct a post-evaluation review to turn feedback into product and positioning actions.
I synthesize findings into audience-specific recommendations rather than simply forwarding reports. For example, I would provide product teams with capability gaps and trend signals, marketing with message implications, and executives with a clear view of perception risks, competitive movements, and recommended actions.
I would prioritize consistent, honest, and useful engagement over transactional outreach. That means sharing clear strategy, differentiated product evidence, customer proof, and appropriate access to subject-matter experts, while being transparent about limitations and following through promptly on commitments.
I would combine quantitative and qualitative measures, including share of voice, report inclusions, sentiment, briefing and inquiry activity, evaluation progress, analyst reach, and use of analyst assets in campaigns and sales enablement. I would tie those measures to agreed business objectives and review them regularly to adjust engagement priorities.
