Sample interview questions
How would you design an AI agent that automates an internal onboarding workflow while maintaining appropriate safeguards?

I would first map the workflow, systems of record, decision points, and data sensitivity. I would use a constrained tool-based agent design with authenticated APIs, least-privilege access, deterministic validation steps, human approval for high-impact actions, and comprehensive audit logging. I would then define evaluation cases and monitoring for task completion, tool errors, hallucinations, and policy violations.

Describe how you would implement retrieval-augmented generation for enterprise knowledge.

I would ingest approved source content, clean and chunk it appropriately, generate embeddings, and store them with metadata and access controls in a vector database. At query time, I would retrieve relevant authorized content, pass cited context to the LLM, and require the model to abstain or escalate when evidence is insufficient. I would measure retrieval relevance, groundedness, answer quality, latency, and feedback trends.

What factors would guide your choice between Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and custom Azure Functions for a solution?

I would consider the use case complexity, required integrations, governance needs, customization level, operating cost, and speed to delivery. Copilot Studio is useful for governed conversational and workflow experiences, while Azure OpenAI and custom functions offer more control for specialized orchestration and APIs. I would choose a composable architecture when reusable services or complex enterprise integrations are needed.

How would you evaluate the quality of a production LLM workflow?

I would establish representative test sets that include routine, edge-case, and adversarial prompts, with clear success criteria. Evaluation would combine automated measures such as groundedness, tool-call accuracy, and latency with human review for usefulness, safety, and business correctness. After release, I would monitor production outcomes, user feedback, failure patterns, and model or prompt regressions.

How would you integrate an LLM agent with an existing enterprise platform using the Model Context Protocol?

I would expose narrowly scoped, well-documented MCP tools backed by secure enterprise APIs and enforce authentication, authorization, input validation, and rate limits at the tool boundary. The agent would receive only the tools and data necessary for its task, with structured outputs and idempotent actions where possible. I would log tool requests and outcomes, test failure and permission scenarios, and provide human escalation for exceptions.
