Sample interview questions
I would begin with customer interviews, win-loss evidence, competitive analysis, and product capabilities to identify high-value use cases and buyer pain points. I would then create a clear value narrative, differentiated proof points, and role-specific messaging, validate it with customers and field teams, and refine it based on adoption and pipeline outcomes.
Product marketing should synthesize customer needs, market trends, competitive gaps, and commercial evidence into actionable recommendations. I would establish regular feedback loops with Product leadership, prioritize evidence by strategic and revenue impact, and ensure roadmap decisions are connected to a clearly defined market opportunity.
I would use leading metrics such as sales readiness completion, content usage, campaign engagement, and qualified pipeline creation, alongside outcome metrics including win rate, adoption, retention signals, revenue contribution, and competitive outcomes. Metrics should be defined before launch and reviewed at scheduled optimization points.
I focus on practical assets that help sellers lead with customer outcomes: concise messaging, discovery questions, use-case plays, competitive guidance, proof points, objection handling, and role-based training. I validate effectiveness through field feedback, asset adoption, opportunity progression, and win-loss insights.
I would define clear ownership across products, segments, and GTM motions, establish measurable objectives, and coach team members in strategic thinking and execution. I would create strong operating rhythms with Product and Sales, provide regular feedback, and give the team autonomy while maintaining accountability for business results.

• Track record of building and developing high-performing product marketing teams and increasing the strategic impact of the function.
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to align Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success and drive decisions without direct authority.
