Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize automation opportunities across a fast-growing organization?

I would combine a structured intake process with scoring criteria such as business impact, frequency, time saved, risk reduction, implementation effort, data sensitivity, and maintainability. I would start with high-volume, repeatable processes that have clear owners and measurable baseline metrics, then publish a roadmap that balances quick wins with foundational platform work.

Describe how you would design a secure integration between a workflow platform and an internal business system.

I would define the required data flows and trust boundaries first, then use least-privilege service identities, scoped API permissions, secure secret storage, encryption in transit, and audit logging. I would also implement validation, error handling, rate-limit controls, monitoring, and a documented ownership model for access reviews and incident response.

What governance would you establish for an Automation and Agentic AI Center of Excellence?

I would establish intake and prioritization standards, approved tooling, reusable templates, architecture reviews, security and privacy assessments, documentation requirements, and success metrics. For AI workflows, I would add data-classification rules, human approval points for consequential actions, evaluation criteria, prompt and workflow versioning, and ongoing monitoring for quality and misuse.

How do you decide whether a process should be automated, redesigned, or remain manual?

I first map the current workflow, identify root causes and exception paths, and assess whether the process is stable enough to automate. If the process is unclear or has high judgment requirements, I would redesign it or retain human review rather than automate existing inefficiency. The final decision should reflect risk, expected value, reliability, and the cost of long-term ownership.

Give an example of how you would communicate an automation trade-off to executive stakeholders.

I would frame the choice in business terms: expected operational impact, implementation cost, risk exposure, delivery timeline, and measurable outcomes. For example, I would explain that a faster no-code workflow can deliver immediate value but may require stronger controls and a later platform migration, while a custom integration offers greater resilience and governance at a higher initial investment.

What We Do:

Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.

Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. That’s why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers’ protection.

Huntress now secures more than 6M endpoints and 16M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence.
