Sample interview questions
I would combine account-health indicators, product-usage data, renewal timing, stakeholder mapping, and business-change signals to identify opportunities. I would then prioritize them by customer value, likelihood to close, strategic fit, and the customer problem we can solve, documenting next steps in an account plan.
I begin by understanding the customer’s security priorities, regulatory pressures, risk profile, and business objectives. I use that context to have outcome-focused conversations, bring in technical experts when needed, and maintain a consistent cadence of value reviews so stakeholders see measurable progress and relevant recommendations.
I establish mutual success criteria, map decision-makers and potential blockers, and align internal product, legal, security, and customer-success partners early. I keep the process transparent with a documented close plan, address commercial and technical concerns directly, and ensure the proposed terms create value for both parties.
I would monitor product adoption, utilization trends, support activity, executive engagement, renewal dates, satisfaction signals, unresolved risks, and commercial pipeline. Together, these indicators reveal where intervention is needed and where customers are best positioned to gain value from additional solutions.
I use defined deal stages with evidence-based exit criteria, validate customer commitment and decision processes regularly, and distinguish upside opportunities from committed business. Frequent account reviews with cross-functional partners help surface risks early and keep forecast assumptions current.
