Sample interview questions
I would begin with audience segmentation, buyer-stage needs, customer interviews, search and competitive analysis, and input from sales and product teams. I would identify a small number of differentiated editorial narratives, map them to cornerstone assets and supporting formats, then define distribution and performance metrics tied to awareness, engagement, leads, influenced pipeline, and revenue.
I first identify the audience question and the most decision-useful insight rather than treating every data point equally. I validate the methodology with subject-matter experts, create a clear narrative arc, use charts and examples to make findings accessible, and derive campaign-ready messages for articles, social posts, email, webinars, and sales enablement.
I would use a balanced scorecard: organic visibility and rankings, engaged visits, content consumption, subscriptions, webinar registrations, conversion rates, sourced and influenced pipeline, and qualitative signals such as backlinks, media mentions, and sales feedback. Metrics would be tailored to the asset's purpose and buyer-journey stage, with regular optimization based on results.
I use a prioritized editorial roadmap with clear business objectives, ownership, review stages, and production timelines. I reserve capacity for timely opportunities, standardize briefs and editorial checklists, and communicate trade-offs early so urgent work does not silently compromise strategic commitments or quality standards.
I use AI to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, outline development, repurposing, and workflow administration, but not as a substitute for subject-matter validation or original editorial judgment. Every deliverable should be fact-checked, brand-aligned, differentiated, and reviewed for accuracy, source quality, and audience value before publication.
