Sample interview questions
I begin by identifying the brief's audience, objective, message, required formats, and brand constraints. I review existing guidelines and comparable assets, develop a clear visual direction, and validate it with stakeholders early. Before delivery, I check typography, colour, imagery, spacing, accessibility, and technical specifications against the brand system.
I would first confirm the required sizes, channels, production method, and ownership of source files. For digital outputs, I would optimize resolution, export formats, file size, and responsive variations; for print, I would use the required colour profile, bleed, crop marks, image resolution, and printer specifications. I would preserve organized editable source files and conduct a final preflight review.
I clarify priority, business impact, deadlines, dependencies, and review owners at the outset. I break work into milestones, communicate progress regularly, and flag risks early if scope or feedback could affect delivery. This approach helps me protect quality while giving partners visibility into trade-offs.
I align on the goal, target audience, key message, deliverables, and approval process before designing. I share early concepts or work-in-progress files in Figma to gather focused feedback, document decisions, and incorporate revisions systematically. I keep communication concise and make sure final files meet both creative and operational requirements.
I regularly study design systems, platform standards, production techniques, and relevant visual trends. I treat trends as inspiration rather than a substitute for strategy, then assess whether they support the audience, message, and brand personality. I test new ideas within the established visual system so the outcome feels fresh but recognizably on-brand.
