Sample interview questions
I would explain the engineering problem, the agent or integration I built, its access boundaries and evaluation approach, and the measurable result. For example, I might describe an agent that generated targeted test suggestions from pull-request changes and reduced review-cycle delays while requiring human approval before changes were merged.
I would define baseline metrics such as review turnaround time, escaped defects, rework rate, acceptance rate of suggestions, and developer satisfaction. I would run a controlled rollout, audit false positives and risky recommendations, and iterate on prompts, retrieval context, and guardrails before broader adoption.
I would first profile setup time, dependency bottlenecks, test execution, and common failure modes. Then I would modularize services, containerize repeatable dependencies, improve caching and seed data, document a reliable golden path, and measure setup and feedback-loop improvements after release.
I use small, opt-in pilots with clear success criteria and safe rollback paths. I prioritize tools that preserve developer control, protect sensitive code and data, and show a concrete benefit before asking teams to change established workflows.
I would identify the underlying workflows and constraints behind each request, distinguish broadly reusable needs from local preferences, and use usage data where possible. I would communicate trade-offs transparently, build extensibility where it is justified, and make a clear decision aligned with the tool's highest-impact use cases.

Our modern Risk Intelligence and Response platform empowers teams to detect emerging threats, assess impact, and respond with confidence. We believe building resilience should be simpler—and it starts with bringing critical information and workflows together in one unified platform.

- Customers always come first
- We work better together
- Simplicity is our strength
- Our reputation is priceless
- Hard work pays off
As one of the fastest growing software companies in the country, we’re looking for a Sr Software Engineer with strong experience building AI development tools to help accelerate an AI-first development model that’s already well underway.
This role focuses on designing and extending the agents, skills, and automation that take on engineering work — and on steadily widening what they can own, from planning and implementation through code review and CI. Testing is part of that. So is clearing the friction that caps how much we can hand off: slow local environments, long feedback loops, manual steps between them.
This is a hands-on engineering role with broad impact. You’ll work closely with engineers across the organization to build AI tools, improve development workflows, and help teams adopt new ways of working that increase engineering productivity.
Who you are:
- You are a software engineer first—you like writing code and making systems better
- You actively use AI tools in your daily development work and look for ways to push them further
- You’re already operating in an AI-native engineering workflow. AI has fundamentally changed how you build software, not just how you write code
- You keep up with new AI capabilities and enjoy figuring out which ones are worth adopting
- You care about how other engineers work and want to make their jobs easier
- You’re comfortable working across teams and incorporating feedback, even when it’s conflicting
- You’re opinionated but practical—you optimize for real improvement, not theoretical perfection
- You’re willing to challenge existing workflows when they’re slowing people down
What you get to every day:
- Stay current on AI tooling and techniques and introduce changes that meaningfully improve productivity
- Collaborate with engineers across teams to shape and adopt AI-assisted workflows
- Design and build AI agents and skills used in the development process (e.g., test generation, code review assistance, CI feedback)
- Improve and modularize local development environments
- Improve developer experience by reducing friction in local development, testing, and CI workflows
- Build internal tools that remove friction from everyday development
- Drive adoption through collaboration and usefulness, not mandates
What you bring to the role:
- Daily hands-on experience using modern AI coding tools (e.g. Claude, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar).
- Experience extending AI tooling rather than only consuming it — custom agents, skills, prompts, MCP servers, etc.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on coding experience (6-8 years)
- Experience building systems or tools other engineers rely on
- This role is backend-leaning with full-stack responsibilities. Candidates should have strong backend engineering experience and be comfortable contributing across the stack
- Experience with Docker, local dev environments, and CI systems
- Familiarity with automated testing and test performance issues
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend-oriented language (Python preferred; JavaScript/TypeScript also considered).
- AWS and Postgres experience required
- The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced challenging environment
- English proficiency (written and oral) is required
Location: This position is remote based in Mexico. Must reside in Mexico and we have an office in Mexico City (Reforma area), if you’re interested in going into the office. Not required, but optional.
