Sample interview questions
How have you grown an existing enterprise account while protecting the renewal?

I start by confirming the client's measurable business outcomes and renewal risks, then map decision-makers, champions, and unmet use cases. I use regular value reviews to connect product usage and outcomes to a prioritized expansion plan, ensuring the renewal conversation begins well before the contract deadline.

Describe your approach to selling data or research products to a retailer.

I begin with the retailer's strategic questions, such as market share, category performance, pricing, or competitive shifts. I tailor the narrative to the relevant decision-makers, demonstrate how the insight changes a decision, and create a success plan with clear adoption milestones and commercial next steps.

How do you manage a complex negotiation with a sophisticated procurement team?

I align internally on value, commercial guardrails, and non-negotiable terms before negotiations begin. I maintain executive sponsorship, distinguish procurement requests from business needs, and trade concessions for meaningful commitments such as longer terms, broader adoption, or improved payment conditions.

What would you do if an important account showed declining engagement halfway through its contract?

I would quickly diagnose whether the issue is product fit, adoption, stakeholder turnover, or a shift in priorities. I would convene the appropriate internal partners, reset the success plan with the client, deliver near-term value, and document a recovery path with owners, milestones, and executive check-ins.

How do you prioritize a book of business with renewals, upsells, and reactive client requests?

I segment accounts by renewal risk, revenue potential, strategic value, and urgency. I protect time for proactive account planning and executive outreach while using clear service expectations and cross-functional escalation paths for reactive matters.
