Sample interview questions
I would outline the institution's operational need, map the decision-makers and procurement path, align internal commercial and technical teams, and explain the measurable adoption or revenue outcome. I would also describe how I built trust and addressed public-sector risk, compliance, and implementation concerns.
I would assess each opportunity against strategic fit, user impact, procurement feasibility, regulatory sensitivity, implementation readiness, and expected revenue potential. I would begin with sectors where secure multilingual voice and conversational AI can address clear needs, such as citizen services, education, healthcare, and transport.
I would evaluate applicable obligations under the EU AI Act alongside privacy, copyright, consumer-protection, competition, and transparency requirements. I would translate those requirements into practical guidance for product, legal, safety, security, and GTM teams while maintaining constructive dialogue with relevant policymakers.
I would acknowledge the requirement clearly, validate the underlying use case, and avoid making unsupported commitments. I would work with product and engineering teams to determine viable alternatives, communicate constraints transparently, and maintain a structured follow-up plan that protects both trust and commercial opportunity.
I would first identify aligned stakeholders across industry, civil society, researchers, and public bodies, then establish a shared evidence-based objective. I would coordinate consistent messaging, provide credible technical input, and ensure the coalition advances responsible outcomes rather than appearing narrowly self-interested.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to build ElevenLabs’ public sector business across France. The Public Sector Partnerships Lead will identify and build relationships with government institutions across France, bridging the gap between government and our GTM team to drive adoption of ElevenLabs’ products and grow government into a strong, durable revenue stream for the company. The role also involves building strategic partnerships with policymakers, industry associations, and coalitions, as well as monitoring regulatory developments and supporting policy campaigns and impact initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Drive government adoption and revenue (primary)
Identify government partnership opportunities across France — from healthcare and education to transport, public banks, and other state-owned enterprises — and bridge the gap between government institutions and the GTM team to drive adoption and deployment of ElevenLabs’ products.
Build and maintain a wide network of relationships across French government institutions — spanning ministries, agencies, établissements publics, and SOEs — not limited to regulatory or policy counterparts.
Promote government adoption of ElevenLabs products and services in partnership with the GTM team.
Build strategic partnerships (secondary)
Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, regulators, industry associations, and civil society groups.
Represent ElevenLabs at conferences and industry events, advancing the company’s public policy goals.
Monitor and advise on policy (tertiary)
Lead ElevenLabs engagement with government bodies and officials across France, with a focus on AI governance, safety, copyright, privacy, transparency, data protection, competition, and/or digital rights.
Monitor, analyze, and advise on emerging regulations impacting the company — including EU-level developments given France’s influence in shaping EU AI policy.
Support the development of internal policies by our Legal, Safety, Security, and other teams.
Provide strategic counsel to company leadership on regional policy trends and their business implications.
Define and implement policy campaigns and impact initiatives that advance company objectives.
Who you are:
You’re genuinely interested in the future of AI and emerging technologies, bringing curiosity and enthusiasm to your role.
You stay up-to-date on AI regulation and industry trends, and are eager to apply this expertise to cutting-edge products.
You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, working cross-functionally with teams across the organization to support and scale a growing business.
You’re comfortable working independently and handling ambiguity, excelling in situations where you must make informed decisions quickly.
You bring a proactive, solution-oriented approach to each project, focused on moving the business forward.
What you bring:
Primary requirements
10+ years’ experience in public and private sector (in-house, firm) roles, with a track record of building relationships with government that led to commercial or technology-adoption outcomes — not solely policy or regulatory roles.
A wide, current network of contacts across French government institutions — spanning ministries, agencies, établissements publics, and SOEs, including in healthcare, education, and transport. Prior government or grands corps experience is a plus but not required if network breadth is strong.
Experience identifying and opening doors for technology partnerships with government institutions is strongly preferred.
Contacts or experience navigating EU institutions or other major European markets is a plus.
Also required
Strong knowledge of the French and EU AI policy landscape, including general AI governance, safety, copyright, privacy, transparency, data protection, competition, and digital rights.
Demonstrated success in designing, advocating for, and influencing policy outcomes, as well as coalition building.
Public policy experience across France.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including when briefing government officials and other policymakers.
Fluency in English and French.
Location
This role is located in France.
