Sample interview questions
How do you identify expansion opportunities within an existing SaaS account portfolio?

I begin with a structured review of account goals, adoption data, stakeholder feedback, and upcoming business changes. I use discovery conversations to connect unmet needs to product capabilities, then build a value-based recommendation with a clear success case rather than approaching expansion as a generic upsell.

Describe how you would prepare for a quarterly business review with a strategic customer.

I would review usage, support trends, achieved outcomes, renewal timing, open risks, and the customer’s stated priorities. I would align internally with Sales and Customer Success, then create an agenda that demonstrates value delivered, addresses gaps, and defines measurable next steps for the next quarter.

How do you handle an account that is hesitant to renew because of low product adoption?

I would first diagnose the adoption barriers through stakeholder interviews and product data. I would coordinate a targeted success plan with training, workflow recommendations, and measurable adoption milestones, while transparently discussing renewal options and demonstrating the value the customer can achieve.

What information do you ensure is documented in a CRM after a client interaction?

I record key stakeholder updates, business objectives, product feedback, risks, commitments, next actions, renewal status, growth signals, and relevant timelines. Clear CRM documentation enables effective cross-functional collaboration and ensures the account strategy remains actionable if ownership or support needs change.

How would you communicate customer feedback to a product team without losing the business context?

I would frame the feedback around the customer problem, affected workflow, impact, frequency, and desired outcome rather than simply requesting a feature. I would also provide representative examples, account context, and any evidence of broader market relevance so the Product team can prioritize effectively.
