Sample interview questions
I establish clear treatment goals, review data and session documentation routinely, conduct scheduled virtual observations, and provide prompt, specific feedback to technicians. I also use regular case reviews to identify barriers early and adjust plans based on measurable learner progress.
I prioritize learner choice, observe indicators of assent and withdrawal, and modify demands or reinforcement strategies when engagement decreases. I work with caregivers and technicians to create supportive conditions that preserve dignity while still progressing toward meaningful goals.
I would first observe implementation and identify the specific performance gap, such as antecedent setup, prompting, reinforcement timing, or data collection. Then I would model the procedure, provide concise practice opportunities, give immediate feedback, and follow up with additional observation and performance data.
I begin by identifying the family’s priorities and daily routines, then teach practical strategies in clear, nontechnical language. I use demonstration, guided practice, and feedback, and I confirm understanding by having caregivers describe or demonstrate how they will use the strategy between sessions.
I evaluate trends in target behavior, skill acquisition, treatment integrity, and generalization rather than relying on isolated data points. If progress is limited, I reassess functional hypotheses, environmental variables, reinforcement effectiveness, and implementation fidelity before making a data-supported adjustment.
