Sample interview questions
I begin by understanding each leader’s priorities, decision-making cadence, and non-negotiable commitments. I assess the business impact and urgency of requests, identify alternatives, and communicate trade-offs clearly so leaders can make informed choices when conflicts cannot be avoided.
I would rapidly gather context through existing calendars, key documents, stakeholder conversations, and the leader’s preferences. I would then establish a short feedback loop, confirm priorities, and proactively address immediate scheduling, travel, or communication needs while building longer-term working knowledge.
I use discretion by limiting information access to those with a legitimate business need, verifying recipients before sharing materials, and avoiding unnecessary detail in calendar titles or communications. I also escalate uncertainty promptly rather than making assumptions about sensitive matters.
I create a detailed itinerary that accounts for time zones, visa or documentation needs, meeting objectives, buffers, ground transportation, and contingency options. I confirm preferences early and monitor changes closely so disruptions can be resolved with minimal impact on the executive’s schedule.
I first identify recurring friction through stakeholder feedback and workflow observation, then create a simple, scalable solution such as a planning template, intake process, or standardized travel checklist. I measure whether it reduces errors or turnaround time and refine it based on user feedback.
