Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize Canonical's investments across major public-cloud alliance partners?

I would assess each partner using current revenue, growth potential, marketplace traction, technical alignment, joint customer demand, and the partner's willingness to co-sell. I would then define a tiered investment model with clear account plans, executive sponsors, joint pipeline targets, and quarterly performance reviews.

Describe how you would build an effective sell-with motion with a hyperscaler.

I would start by identifying joint customer use cases where Ubuntu and Canonical services strengthen the cloud provider's strategic offerings. I would equip field teams with account mapping, repeatable solution plays, enablement materials, shared pipeline processes, and measurable co-sell incentives.

How would you align product, engineering, marketing, and sales around a cloud-partner opportunity?

I would establish a common business case, named owners, milestones, and success metrics for the opportunity. Regular cross-functional operating reviews would ensure technical readiness, marketplace positioning, campaign execution, and field adoption remain aligned with the commercial objective.

What metrics would you use to evaluate the health of a cloud alliance?

I would track sourced and influenced pipeline, bookings, revenue growth, marketplace consumption, win rate, partner-seller engagement, number of joint account plans, and time to launch for joint offerings. I would also review executive engagement quality and customer adoption to identify longer-term strategic value.

How do you lead distributed teams through ambitious revenue goals?

I set a clear strategy, translate it into measurable objectives, and give leaders ownership of execution while maintaining a consistent operating cadence. I combine transparent metrics, direct feedback, coaching, and recognition so remote teams stay aligned, accountable, and motivated.
