Check whether the repost has the same requisition number, location, and scope before reading much into it. For example, an unchanged listing may simply keep the applicant pool open while references clear; a new ID or added duties usually signals a broader search. The main exception is a materially changed posting.

Could you ask the recruiter whether the repost reflects additional headcount or an extended search? Send one brief email confirming your continued interest and reference status. Example: “I noticed the updated posting; has the hiring timeline changed?” Reposting is often administrative. The main exception is a clearly new requisition or changed job scope.
