How do you handle a difficult or aggressive animal during a procedure?
I prioritize safety for both the animal and staff by using appropriate restraint techniques, such as towel wraps or muzzles, and remaining calm. I also assess the animal's behavior to determine if sedation is necessary, and communicate with the veterinarian to ensure the best approach.
Describe your experience with administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during surgery.
I have experience inducing anesthesia using various protocols, intubating patients, and monitoring vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation. I adjust anesthetic levels as needed and document all parameters to ensure patient safety.
How do you educate pet owners on preventive care and treatment plans?
I explain medical terms in simple language, provide written instructions, and demonstrate how to administer medications. I also address any concerns and emphasize the importance of follow-up visits to ensure compliance and better outcomes.
Can you give an example of a time you handled an emergency situation in the clinic?
During a code blue, I quickly prepared emergency drugs, assisted with intubation, and performed chest compressions while the veterinarian managed the airway. I remained focused and followed protocols until the patient stabilized.
Why do you want to work at Veterinary Care Group specifically?
I admire VCG's focus on building long-term relationships with clients and their pets, as well as their commitment to team culture and professional growth. I also appreciate the community-oriented approach in Astoria, which aligns with my values.
