Key Skills

Quality Management ISO 9001 Supplier Quality Project Quality Continuous Improvement Root Cause Analysis PED Compliance FAT/SAT Leadership European Projects

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the Quality Manager position at Electric Hydrogen. With over 10 years of quality experience in industrial equipment and project environments, I have a proven track record of developing and implementing quality systems that ensure compliance and customer satisfaction. My background includes leading quality teams, managing supplier qualifications, and coordinating PED conformity assessments, aligning well with your requirements.

I am particularly drawn to Electric Hydrogen's mission to decarbonize heavy industry through renewable electrolysis. In my current role, I successfully led quality execution for multiple European projects, implementing ITPs and root cause analysis processes that reduced non-conformances by 30%. I am confident I can bring similar value to your European plant projects.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my skills can contribute to Electric Hydrogen's success.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Can you describe your experience developing and implementing a quality management system for a large-scale industrial project?
In my previous role, I led the development of a QMS for a $100M+ electrolysis plant project. I established procedures for document control, non-conformance management, and supplier audits, aligning with ISO 9001 and PED. The system improved traceability and reduced defect rates by 25% within the first year.
How do you manage quality across multiple European projects simultaneously?
I prioritize risk-based planning, conducting regular cross-project reviews and leveraging a centralized tracking system. I also delegate to qualified quality engineers and maintain open communication with project managers to ensure alignment. This approach allowed me to successfully oversee three concurrent projects in Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Describe a time you had to resolve a major non-conformance with a supplier. What steps did you take?
A key supplier delivered modules with weld defects. I initiated a formal non-conformance report, led a root cause analysis with the supplier, and implemented corrective actions including revised weld procedures and additional inspections. We also updated the AVL criteria to prevent recurrence. The issue was resolved within two weeks with no impact to project schedule.
What is your approach to developing and executing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)?
I collaborate with engineering and the supplier to define test criteria based on project specifications. I create detailed FAT procedures and witness tests, documenting results. For a recent hydrogen project, I coordinated FATs at three supplier sites, ensuring all equipment met performance and safety standards before shipment.
How do you ensure compliance with PED 2014/68/EU for pressure equipment in your projects?
I work with notified bodies early in the project to define conformity assessment modules. I ensure design documentation and manufacturing processes meet PED requirements, and I maintain technical files for each pressure equipment item. In my last project, I successfully obtained EU Declarations of Conformity for all 50+ pressure vessels.
