QA Automation BDD Playwright Cucumber TypeScript Python REST API Testing CI/CD Agile Green Energy

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my strong interest in the Senior QA Automation Engineer (BDD) position at Zartis. With over 4 years of experience in QA automation and a proven track record in Behavior Driven Development using Cucumber and Playwright, I am excited to contribute to your innovative green energy project. I have successfully integrated automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and high-quality releases. My proactive mindset and excellent communication skills align well with your distributed Agile team culture. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can help drive impact at Zartis.

Sincerely, [Your Name]

Can you describe your experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and how you have implemented it in your previous projects?
I have used BDD extensively with Cucumber and Gherkin syntax to define test scenarios in collaboration with product owners and developers. For example, in my last project, we created feature files that served as both documentation and automated tests, ensuring shared understanding and reducing defects.
How do you integrate automated tests into a CI/CD pipeline?
I typically use tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions to run test suites on every commit. I configure the pipeline to trigger Playwright and Jest tests, and set up reporting with Allure or JUnit. I also enforce quality gates so that builds are blocked if critical tests fail.
What testing frameworks and tools are you most comfortable with?
I have strong experience with Playwright for end-to-end testing, Jest for unit and integration tests, and Postman for API testing. I also use TypeScript and Python for scripting, and I'm familiar with HTTP request libraries like Axios.
Describe a time when you had to troubleshoot a complex defect and how you resolved it.
Once, we had intermittent failures in our payment module. I analyzed logs, recreated the scenario, and discovered a race condition between two API calls. I worked with the development team to implement a retry mechanism and added a test to cover that edge case.
How do you prioritize testing efforts when time is limited?
I focus on high-risk areas based on business impact and recent changes. I use risk-based testing, prioritizing critical paths and frequently used features. I also automate regression tests to free up time for exploratory testing on new features.
