Key Skills

Test Automation API Testing Selenium C# .NET Azure DevOps CI/CD Agile API Simulation Cloud Computing

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Senior QA Automation Engineer position at Zartis. With over 5 years of experience in automating API and web application testing, I have a strong track record of designing and implementing test automation frameworks from the ground up. My expertise in .NET/C#, Azure DevOps, and API simulation tools aligns perfectly with the requirements of this role.

I have led the development of common test automation components and mentored teams in best practices, ensuring high-quality software delivery. I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to work on cutting-edge IoT solutions that drive real business impact. I am confident that my hands-on technical skills and collaborative approach would make me a valuable addition to your team.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to discussing how I can contribute to Zartis’s success.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Describe a time you designed a test automation framework from scratch. What were the key considerations?
I led the design of a framework for a microservices-based application. Key considerations included modularity, reusability, and integration with CI/CD pipelines. I chose a combination of Selenium for UI, RestSharp for API, and used a layered architecture with page object model. The framework reduced regression testing time by 60%.
How do you approach test automation architecture?
I start by understanding the application's architecture and identifying layers for testing (UI, API, database). I then design a framework that supports parallel execution, data-driven testing, and easy maintenance. I advocate for a shared component library to avoid duplication across teams.
Can you explain your experience with API simulation tools?
I have used tools like WireMock and Mountebank to simulate third-party APIs when they are unavailable or unpredictable. This allows automated tests to run reliably. For example, I created mock services for payment gateway testing, which enabled end-to-end validation without external dependencies.
How do you mentor junior testers in test automation?
I engage in pair programming sessions, code reviews, and provide documentation. I encourage them to start with simple test cases and gradually take on more complex scenarios. I also hold knowledge-sharing sessions on framework best practices and debugging techniques.
What is your experience with CI/CD pipelines for test execution?
I have configured Azure DevOps pipelines to trigger automated tests on every commit, including integration and smoke tests. I implemented parallel test execution across multiple agents to speed up feedback. I also set up quality gates to prevent releases if critical tests fail.
