I am excited to apply for the Telehealth Behavioral Health Clinician position at the University of Colorado Anschutz. With my LCSW and experience in integrated primary care, I am confident in my ability to provide evidence-based therapy remotely.

I have a strong background in crisis intervention and care coordination, ensuring patients receive appropriate levels of care. I thrive in collaborative environments and am eager to contribute to the multidisciplinary team.

Thank you for considering my application.

Describe your experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy via telehealth. How do you ensure effective therapeutic engagement remotely?
I have over three years of experience delivering CBT and DBT via telehealth platforms. I maintain engagement by using interactive tools, active listening, and regularly checking in on patient comfort with the format. I also ensure a private, distraction-free environment and have backup plans for technical issues.
How do you handle a crisis situation with a patient during a telehealth session?
I stay calm and assess immediate safety using standardized protocols. I have the patient's location information and emergency contacts readily available. If needed, I can involve emergency services while keeping the patient on the line. I follow up with the patient and coordinating provider.
Can you give an example of how you collaborate with a primary care provider to coordinate care for a patient with comorbid medical and behavioral health issues?
In my previous role, I worked with a PCP to manage a diabetic patient with depression. I shared de-identified progress notes, provided brief updates via secure messaging, and jointly adjusted treatment plans. We scheduled joint visits when needed, resulting in improved HbA1c and PHQ-9 scores.
What evidence-based therapies are you trained in, and how do you adapt them for short-term treatment in primary care?
I am trained in CBT, DBT skills, and motivational interviewing. For short-term work, I focus on goal-oriented, solution-focused approaches. I use CBT for anxiety and depression in 6-8 sessions, and motivational interviewing for behavior change. I emphasize skill-building and home practice.
How do you manage your time and maintain productivity in a remote setting, especially with a part-time schedule?
I use a structured schedule with dedicated time for patient sessions, documentation, and team communication. I prioritize tasks using a daily To-Do list and set boundaries to prevent burnout. I also use telehealth platform tools to streamline scheduling and note-taking.
