I am writing to express my interest in the Supplier Quality Engineer IV position at TE Connectivity. With over [X] years of experience in supplier quality engineering and a strong background in driving continuous improvement, I am confident in my ability to contribute to your team.

My expertise includes leading supplier quality initiatives, implementing APQP and PPAP processes, and utilizing problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Whys. I hold an AS9100 auditor certification and have a proven track record of improving supplier performance through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

I am particularly drawn to TE Connectivity's commitment to creating a safer and more connected world, and I am eager to bring my skills in supplier excellence to support your global supply chain. I thrive in self-directed environments and am comfortable communicating with diverse stakeholders, including senior management.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can contribute to the high standards and continuous improvement culture at TE Connectivity.

Can you describe a time when you had to drive a significant improvement in supplier performance? What steps did you take and what was the outcome?
In my previous role, I worked with a key supplier that had a high defect rate. I initiated a structured improvement roadmap using 8D methodology, conducted on-site training, and established regular performance reviews. Over six months, we reduced defects by 40% and improved on-time delivery.
How do you prioritize multiple supplier quality issues and projects simultaneously?
I use a risk-based approach, focusing on suppliers with the highest impact on production and quality. I maintain a dashboard to track key metrics and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align priorities. Regular communication with stakeholders ensures that critical issues are addressed promptly.
What experience do you have with APQP and PPAP? Can you provide an example of how you applied them?
I have extensive experience with APQP and PPAP, especially in the aerospace sector. For a new product launch, I led the APQP process, ensuring all phases from planning to production were executed correctly. I reviewed PPAP submissions for accuracy and worked with suppliers to resolve any non-conformances, resulting in a successful launch.
Describe your approach to conducting supplier audits. How do you ensure they are effective?
I follow a systematic approach based on AS9100 standards. Before the audit, I review supplier performance data and define objectives. During the audit, I use a checklist and engage with operators and management. Afterward, I provide clear findings and collaborate on corrective actions. Follow-ups ensure sustained improvement.
How do you handle a situation where a supplier is resistant to implementing corrective actions?
I first seek to understand their perspective and any constraints. I then present data to demonstrate the impact of non-compliance and offer support such as training or resources. If resistance continues, I escalate to procurement and may consider supplier restriction or disqualification as a last resort.

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
