Sample interview questions
Describe your process for testing a landing page across multiple browsers and devices.

I start by creating a test plan based on requirements, then use browser DevTools to simulate different devices and screen sizes. I test functionality, layout, and responsive behavior manually, and for repetitive checks, I automate using Playwright with scripted scenarios for cross-browser coverage.

How do you approach verifying analytics tracking like UTM parameters?

I use browser DevTools to inspect network requests and validate that UTM parameters are appended correctly. I also set up test events in Google Analytics and verify them in real-time reports. For automation, I write scripts to check URL parameters and trigger events programmatically.

Can you describe a bug you reported that had significant impact? How did you ensure it was fixed?

I once found a payment flow bug that caused double billing on a promotional page. I documented it with steps to reproduce, screenshots, and severity, then worked with the developer to isolate the issue. I retested after the fix and added a regression test to prevent recurrence.

What experience do you have with test automation frameworks like Playwright or Cypress?

I have used Playwright extensively for end-to-end testing of web applications. I write JavaScript test scripts to automate user flows, such as form submissions and navigation. I also integrate the tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain a suite of smoke tests for critical paths.

How do you stay updated with new testing tools and methodologies?

I follow QA communities like Ministry of Testing, attend webinars, and experiment with new tools in personal projects. Recently, I've been exploring AI-driven test generation tools and incorporating them into my workflow to improve efficiency.
