Dear Hiring Team,
I am excited to apply for the Business Development Manager, DACH role at SiteMinder. My full-cycle SaaS sales experience, consultative approach, and ability to build qualified pipelines would enable me to help hotel businesses realize measurable commercial value from SiteMinder’s platform.
I bring strong German-language business communication, disciplined CRM management, and the resilience needed to exceed ambitious targets in a fast-paced environment. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to SiteMinder’s growth across DACH while developing trusted, long-term customer partnerships.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sample interview questions
I begin by segmenting the territory by property type, size, technology maturity, and potential commercial impact. I define target-account lists and persona-specific messaging, use a consistent outbound cadence, and track conversion rates by segment in the CRM so I can shift effort toward the highest-performing sources and opportunities.
I use discovery to understand the hotel’s current distribution model, revenue goals, operational constraints, and cost of inaction. I then connect the product’s capabilities to those specific outcomes, validate the value with relevant stakeholders, and propose a phased path that addresses both commercial and implementation concerns.
I maintain clear entry and exit criteria for every deal stage, log next steps immediately, and review pipeline health weekly against activity, conversion, and forecast metrics. I distinguish committed opportunities from upside opportunities based on verified customer intent, stakeholder alignment, timeline, and commercial process.
I acknowledge the concern, clarify whether it is about budget, value, risk, or timing, and return to the customer’s stated business objectives. Where appropriate, I quantify the likely impact of the current situation, reinforce differentiated value, and seek a mutually workable commercial or implementation path without discounting unnecessarily.
In a previous full-cycle sales role, I would describe a specific example using the situation, the customer’s challenge, the actions I took to engage stakeholders and tailor the solution, and the measurable result. I would also explain how I created follow-on opportunities and maintained the relationship after the initial close.
