Vonage seeks a senior AEM and Adobe Target Architect to lead the technical design, delivery, and quality of enterprise digital-experience platforms. The role requires deep hands-on expertise in AEM, Java, Sling, OSGi, JCR, HTL/Sightly, Adobe Target, and the broader Adobe Experience Cloud. The architect will guide engineering teams, partner with marketing and executive stakeholders, and integrate AEM with platforms such as Salesforce, OneTrust, and 6sense. I would begin with a content and governance model that separates reusable global components from market-specific content. I would define language-copy and translation workflows, MSM or equivalent rollout strategies where appropriate, taxonomy and metadata standards, and clear permissions. At the platform layer, I would design dispatcher/CDN caching rules, publishing topology, monitoring, and deployment pipelines that support reliable regional content delivery.
I would first establish the business hypothesis, primary success metric, audience, test duration, and guardrail metrics with marketing and analytics stakeholders. I would implement the experience through the appropriate AEM and Target integration, validate offer rendering and audience qualification, and confirm Adobe Analytics for Target reporting is correctly configured. Before launch, I would perform QA across devices and visitor states, then monitor data quality and document the decision criteria before declaring a winner.
I assess traffic patterns, personalization requirements, content-update frequency, and recovery objectives. I then define cacheable versus non-cacheable paths at the CDN and Dispatcher layers, establish secure invalidation and replication processes, protect origin services with firewall and access controls, and avoid exposing authoring endpoints. For resilience, I include observability, backup and recovery procedures, deployment rollback plans, and tested disaster-recovery runbooks.
I start by clarifying ownership of data, identity and consent requirements, API contracts, failure behavior, and performance constraints. I use secure service integrations with least-privilege access, configurable endpoints, robust error handling, and monitoring, while ensuring consent rules from tools such as OneTrust are respected before tracking or personalization occurs. I also collaborate with platform owners to test end-to-end data flow and maintain clear operational documentation.
I set architecture principles, coding standards, definition-of-done criteria, and a pragmatic component and service design approach early in the project. I use peer reviews, automated tests, CI/CD quality gates, and regular technical design reviews to catch risk before production. I also mentor engineers, make tradeoffs transparent to stakeholders, and balance immediate delivery needs with a roadmap for reducing technical debt.

Primary Role:
Responsible for leading the technical design and development of projects, guiding the engineering team, ensuring code quality, and aligning solutions with business goals and technical standards. Collaborate with project managers and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions for the development team. Implement A/B Tests in Adobe Target based on the requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of hands-on AEM development experience, with a strong foundation in Java, Sling, OSGi, JCR, and Apache Web Server
- 5+ years of experience leading AEM architecture and delivery teams in client-facing applications.
Proven Skills and Abilities :
- Lead the design and implementation of AEM-based architectures to support digital marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AEM solutions with existing systems.
- Design caching and security strategies (Dispatcher, firewall, CDN)
- Define strategies to support multi-site and multi-language web applications by fully leveraging the capabilities of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

- Demonstrate experience in integrating with third-party applications ( SalesForce, OneTrust, 6sense, ) and Adobe products (Target, Launch, Analytics and CJA ) with AEM.
- Experienced in provisioning access using Adobe Admin Console, using Adobe Support as needed and handling production deployments using Adobe Cloud Manager.
- Deep understanding and experience in working with Adobe Suite of products including Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Target, Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics and Customer Journey Analytics.
- Extensive hands-on experience in full-stack development, with a strong ability in both system and application design.
- Develop and oversee OSGI bundles, AEM templates, HTL/Sightly components and services, AEM launches, workflows, localization features, AEM Mobile and Forms applications and the AEM DAM.
- Strong hands- on experience of Components, Templates, Taxonomy, metadata management, Forward and Reverse Replication, Workflows, Content Publishing and unpublishing, Tagging, Deployment(Maven) and Content migration/ planning.
- Experience working with Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks such as Vue.js and React, along with comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and its backend frameworks of OSGI, Sling, Sightly etc.
- Provide expert guidance on AEM system engineering and support engineering best practices providing future-proof solutions.
- Deep understanding of system architecture including high availability, disaster recovery, caching, CDN, and persistence layers.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Proven track record of launching complex, enterprise-level platforms using AEM Cloud Service or AEM 6.5
- Provide on-going technical support to business as well as a team of AEM engineers, functional SMEs, and business analysis across the organization.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — capable of engaging both executive stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and test-driven development practices.
