Core work includes Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise, Microsoft Entra ID integration, device re-enrollment, troubleshooting, and coordination with the outgoing IT provider. Sample interview questions
I would explain the starting environment, device inventory and risk assessment, target-platform selection criteria, pilot approach, enrollment and policy configuration, phased migration plan, user communications, issue resolution, and final documentation. I would emphasize measurable outcomes such as enrollment completion, compliance status, minimal downtime, and successful knowledge transfer.
I would assess the existing device mix, identity provider, security and compliance requirements, required integrations, IT administration capacity, user experience, budget, and future growth. I would compare platforms against capabilities such as cross-platform policy management, Apple Business Manager and Android Enterprise support, Entra ID integration, reporting, automation, support quality, and total operating cost.
I would first confirm ownership, tenant access, licensing, device inventory, enrollment dependencies, certificates, applications, policies, and recovery procedures. I would build and test the new environment with pilot devices, sequence migrations by platform and user group, communicate clear re-enrollment instructions, provide live support during cutover, and validate compliance, encryption, application access, and device health after each wave.
I would implement conditional access and identity integration, require device encryption and secure lock settings, enforce supported OS versions, configure endpoint protection, restrict risky configurations, deploy Wi-Fi/VPN and certificate profiles as needed, and establish compliance reporting. Policies would be tailored by operating system while maintaining consistent security outcomes, with exceptions documented and reviewed.
I would create concise operational documentation covering architecture, administrator roles, enrollment processes, policies, application deployment, troubleshooting, vendor contacts, and routine maintenance. I would also conduct a structured handover session, demonstrate common administrative workflows, review outstanding risks or follow-up actions, and ensure the team has appropriate access and ownership before project closure.

About the Role & Project

You’ll take ownership of the transition from the current externally managed Microsoft Intune environment to a new MDM/UEM platform, covering a mixed estate of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. As part of the scope, you’ll also help assess MySense’s needs and select the most suitable MDM/UEM platform before leading its setup and migration.
Your work will include configuring the new environment, setting up enrollment, security, and compliance policies, coordinating the migration with the current provider, and ensuring devices are successfully moved across with minimal disruption.
Once the migration is complete, you’ll document the setup and hand it over to the internal MySense team, leaving them with a secure and manageable environment they can run independently.
MySense is a small team of around 20 employees, so this is a focused, hands-on project where you’ll have clear ownership and visible impact.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the transition from the existing externally managed Intune environment.
Set up and configure the new MDM/UEM platform.
Configure device enrollment and management for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
Set up Apple Business Manager and Android Enterprise where required.
Migrate and re-enroll existing employee devices into the new environment.
Configure baseline security, compliance, and device policies.
Integrate the MDM environment with identity management such as Microsoft Entra ID.
Troubleshoot issues during the migration.
Document the setup and provide a clear handover to the internal team.
Essential knowledge, skills & experience:
Previous hands-on experience implementing or migrating an MDM/UEM environment.
Strong practical experience with at least one major MDM platform such as:
Microsoft Intune
Jamf
Kandji
Workspace ONE
MobileIron
Experience managing a mixed device environment across Windows, macOS, iOS, and/or Android.
Good understanding of:
Apple Business Manager
Windows Autopilot / Microsoft Endpoint Management
Android Enterprise
PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting for endpoint automation.
Experience configuring device enrollment, policies, profiles, security, and compliance rules.
Experience integrating endpoint management with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD or similar identity systems.
Ability to independently own the migration from planning through implementation and handover.
Advanced English and strong stakeholder communication skills.
Nice-to-have
Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environments.
Experience working with external IT/MSP providers during migrations or offboarding.
Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, finance, or education.
Knowledge of certificate management, PKI, or network access control.
