Sample interview questions
How do you structure a high-volume outbound calling day while maintaining lead quality?

I segment the pipeline by priority, reserve focused blocks for calls, and use clear call objectives for each prospect. I log outcomes immediately, schedule specific follow-ups, and review conversion metrics regularly so I can refine messaging and focus effort on the highest-potential accounts.

Describe how you manage a 360-degree sales cycle from prospecting to account growth.

I begin with targeted prospecting and qualification, uncover the customer’s operational and financial needs, and position the most relevant value proposition. After conversion, I maintain regular contact, monitor product adoption, identify opportunities to increase usage, and address issues quickly to support long-term account value.

How would you respond to an SME owner who says they already have a business credit card?

I would acknowledge their existing setup and ask focused questions about its limitations, such as spend controls, rewards, reporting, access to credit, or support. I would then tailor the discussion to the specific advantages that address those gaps rather than delivering a generic product pitch.

What techniques help you remain resilient when making 30–50 cold calls a day?

I treat each call as a new opportunity, focus on controllable activity metrics, and use call outcomes as learning data rather than personal setbacks. Preparing thoroughly, celebrating incremental progress, and reviewing objections with managers or peers helps me maintain energy and improve consistently.

How do you balance sales performance with FCA-regulated selling standards?

I ensure that my product explanations are accurate, transparent, and appropriate to the customer’s circumstances. I never use pressure or omit important information to accelerate a sale, and I document conversations carefully while escalating any uncertainty to the appropriate compliance or management team.
