Core skills

Sample interview questions
Describe a complex SaaS deal you closed involving multiple stakeholders. How did you manage the buying process?

I mapped the buying committee early, identifying the economic buyer, technical evaluators, champions, procurement, and legal stakeholders. I used a mutual action plan with agreed milestones, tailored value messages to each group, and maintained regular champion alignment to address risks before they delayed the deal.

How do you balance self-sourced outbound pipeline creation with progressing active opportunities?

I time-block prospecting as a non-negotiable weekly activity and prioritize accounts using fit, intent, and whitespace signals. I maintain separate operating cadences for pipeline generation and deal execution, while using CRM reporting to ensure late-stage activity does not reduce future pipeline coverage.

What is your approach to consultative discovery for a $50K+ ACV opportunity?

I begin by understanding the customer’s strategic objectives, current process, measurable pain points, technical environment, decision criteria, and consequences of inaction. I validate these findings with multiple stakeholders, quantify the business impact where possible, and use the information to build a tailored point of view rather than leading with product features.

How would you partner with a Solutions Engineer during a sales cycle?

I would align with the Solutions Engineer before customer meetings on desired outcomes, stakeholder concerns, technical risks, and each person’s role in the conversation. During the cycle, I would ensure demonstrations and technical validation are connected directly to the customer’s business priorities and use debriefs to define clear next steps.

Tell us about a time you improved an outbound sales process. What did you change and what was the result?

I reviewed activity, reply, meeting, and conversion data across sequences to identify where prospects disengaged. I refined segmentation, introduced more relevant account-specific messaging, and created a structured follow-up cadence; this improved meeting quality and gave the team a repeatable framework for testing future outreach.
