Core skills

Skills and capabilities most closely associated with this opportunity.

Sample interview questions
How do you build and manage a pipeline that reliably supports quota attainment?

I set activity and conversion targets by funnel stage, segment accounts by fit and urgency, and reserve daily time for outbound outreach and follow-up. I keep opportunity stages evidence-based in the CRM, review pipeline coverage weekly, and identify stalled deals early so I can create a next-step plan or replace them with new qualified opportunities.

How would you tailor a demo for a small pest-control or lawn-service business with four to nine employees?

I would begin with discovery around scheduling, route management, lead follow-up, invoicing, payments, and growth goals. During the demo, I would focus on a few high-impact workflows rather than every feature, connecting each capability to time saved, improved customer experience, or stronger cash flow. I would confirm stakeholder priorities throughout and close with mutually agreed next steps.

Describe how you handle an objection that a prospect is too small to invest in software.

I would acknowledge the concern and explore what is driving it, such as budget, implementation effort, or uncertainty about return on investment. Then I would quantify the operational cost of manual processes, missed leads, delayed invoicing, or inefficient scheduling and connect the platform to their specific growth goals. I would position the solution as a way to establish scalable processes before complexity becomes harder to manage.

What methods do you use to keep multiple fast-moving deals organized?

I use Salesforce as the source of truth for contacts, discovery notes, stage criteria, next steps, and close dates. I prioritize work based on deal health, urgency, and potential impact, use task sequences for consistent follow-up, and block time for prospecting, demos, proposals, and forecast reviews. Every active opportunity should have a clear owner, decision process, and scheduled next action.

Tell us about a time you used active listening to improve a sales outcome.

In a discovery call, I would listen for both stated needs and underlying business consequences rather than moving immediately to a product pitch. For example, when a prospect says they need better scheduling, I would ask how scheduling issues affect technician utilization, customer retention, and revenue. Reflecting those priorities back in the demo helps establish trust and makes the proposed solution more relevant to the buying decision.
